WHO WE ARE

OUR HISTORY

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church began as a mission congregation in the LCMS North Wisconsin District and was organized in January of 1986 with 70+ members from our sister congregation, Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham, MI. In August of 1991, we began construction of our 9000 sq. ft. church building in which we still exist today.  Located on the outskirts of Munising, Mi. on 7 acres of land, we are situated along highway M-28.

Grace Alone -

God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him, and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.

Faith Alone -

By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.

Scripture Alone -

The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.

We serve the needs of the city and share -

 

Jesus. We want to serve as Jesus did, which we believe is the most effective way to help people understand Jesus's love
